Next week, i'm going to meet with Heidi again to talk about installation ideas.

I would not recommend googling that by the way, you get some weird medical photos and drawings. While reviewing my work with one of our adjuncts, we brainstormed the mechanism for one of my pieces. It's supposed to sit right under the breast, be close to the body and maybe even push up alittle so she suggested a simple fibula brooch pin. In my head, it solves all my issues with the attachment issue. I still need to sketch things out to work them out in my mind. When searching for examples of fibula brooches, a lot of ancient work came up. I don't know why i've never seen this kind of thing before. I'm in love... with the way they flow, their simplicity, and just the look.

Summing up a year long project in a few sentences is quite the challenge. Especially when i have an overwhelming amount of research and notes. I wasn't even sure i could sum it up in my head. I used a huge word web and chart to organize the thoughts that were floating around in my mind... it kind of helped. I wanted to include a project blurb on the back of my postcard but it needs to be short- -shorter than a design brief. Here's the versions i came up with:
OBJECT LITERATURE
1. This handmade collection of art jewelry explores the act of associating mundane objects with emotions and stories. To collect, save and imbue objects with sentiment is a universal human phenomena and a collective practice. Object Literature encourages the viewer to share and interpret the stories behind the ordinary.
2. [fixing the first 2 sentences... 3rd sentence needs working on!]
This handmade collection of jewelry explores the act of associating mundane objects with emotions and stories. To collect, save and imbue objects with sentiment is a universal human practice.
[options for 3rd sentence]
a) Object Literature encourages the viewer to share personal stories behind an ordinary object.
b) Object Literature shares the interpretation of selected stories.
c) object literature allows the viewer to see personal stories often not seen.
d) Object Literature encourages the viewers to look at work that physically embodies personal stories about mundane objects.
e) object literature allows for viewers to experience physical representations of the sentiment associated to mundane objects and also allows viewers to experience personal stories first hand.
f) object literature shares the visual interpretation of an object's sentimental value.*
3. [3rd sentence is good. I like 3 sentences but i think the blurb should include my intention for the exhibition too.]
This handmade collection of jewelry explores the act of associating mundane objects with emotions and stories. To collect, save and imbue objects with sentiment is a universal human practice. The collection shares the visual interpretation of an ordinary object's sentimental value. Also, Object Literature is a vehicle for personal reflection and self examination.
4. [rearranging and "mundane" vs "common"?]
Object Literature is a vehicle for personal reflection and self examination. This handmade collection of jewelry explores the act of associating common objects with emotions and stories. To collect, save and imbue objects with sentiment is a universal human practice. This collection shares the visual interpretation of ordinary objects' sentimental value.
