Internship [August]

Some more Girardini clocks that we've packaged up or worked on:
[top: easel clock
Middle:Curves clock
bottom: double circle clock] Most of their products can be found on www.artfulhome.com!
8.5: We started cutting pieces for ornament holders. The ornament holders are in the artful home catalog. They can display single or triple glass ornaments.

The rings were sanded on the inside with an attachment on the drill press and the outside was done on the belt sander. We also worked on the bases.

8.7&8.8: After the inside and outside were finished, the sides (very important) had to be finished. So we ground them with the big grinder and then the small one. It was very important to stay flat and constant all the way around.

8.13: Once Dave had welded some of the ornament holders (not on the bases yet) we could line it up on a grid, mark where holes were to be drilled with sharpie, punch the dot, then drill the holes. We also got some scrap pieces today to play around with and think of our own designs.
8.15: We talked to Julie today about merchandising, pricing, out sourcing, promoting, etc. They just finished a bed for the artful home and were taking pictures of it and a sculpture that Julie had just finished. It's so interesting to see the one-of-a-kinds and the production pieces being worked on at the same time. Julie and Ken have such good time management... something i could learn a thing or two about. =) Sherri and I also finally finished the ornament holders and started to cut new parts.
